We begin with listening closely to what your "needs" are in a property - things like the number of bedrooms, a dining room that will accomodate a high chair, etc.. Then what the "wants" are - things like a garburator, or a jetted tub. And what you budget is. The area you want. We also ask what might seem like less common questions - like the location of where you work, where your close family and friends live, and if you are considering getting married, having children, or if family members may move in with you. We ask if you might be considering renting out a room, or if you plan on renting out the entire property. It is more than just throwing a few items into an automated search and waiting for the internet to do magic.
When we take you to view a property, you can see for yourself if you like the flooring or cabinetry. You don't need us for that. What makes us truly different as a real estate team is that we show you what issues the home may have. We know that most buyers have a certain budget. When you move into your new home that last thing you need is to find out you must now spend thousands or tens of thousands of dollars on repairs you had not anticipated. As a contractor, Jules knows what replacing a roof might cost you, or if a crack in the basement wall means major foundation work. Or if the wiring needs to be replaced. And if everything looks brand new, Laurel checks closely to ensure that the appropriate permits were taken out, and whether or not they have had the follow-up inspection and closure. You don't want surprises when you have just moved in.
