BIOGRAPHY
Jules Freis – Team Leader
I was raised on a farm in Narcisse, Manitoba, the second youngest of five children. As a first generation Canadian and having pioneer parents, I soon learned that hard work, dedication, and team work was not only beneficial, it meant survival.
I got my first introduction into housing and buildings as an apprentice drywaller. After some experience with various firms, I quickly learned I wanted more and got a degree in architectural drafting in 1989. After a few more years honing my skills in different areas of carpentry, I opened my own contracting business, “Jules the Carpenter”, where I had the great fun of building complete homes, finishing basements, kitchen and bath remodelling, window replacement, roofing, and everything in between.
I’ve branched into the next phase of my career, and feel that my past experience and knowledge in carpentry gives my clients that extra edge in helping them to find the perfect home for their needs. And it’s the greatest compliment to see my former contracting clients calling on me to help them with their real estate transactions.
When I’m not working, I try to spend time with my lovely wife Laurel, and my four boys. I’m an antique truck enthusiast and love taking my bride for a spin on the dance floor when time permits.
I look forward to bringing everyone top level service and result, as they have all come to expect from “The Freis Guys”!
Laurel Freis – Team Member
I joined RE/MAX in 2004, and I am proud to have attained Top Producer status several times. I have reached award winning status for sales and for my innovative ideas in advertising. My association with RE/MAX has proven to be a winning combination for everyone I work with.
Prior to entering the world of real estate, I was a nurse. In my last medical position, I was the Assistant to the Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre, and ran the business end of the SICU and surgical cardiac unit.
I have degrees in nursing, literature, and PC specialist. I have also enjoyed careers in Student Services working with special needs children, nutritional counselling and numerous government administrative positions.
I am fortunate to have four wonderful kids (including a set of twins) and I am happily married to my real estate partner Jules, a former contractor who taught me everything I know about buildings and construction. I grew up on a farm in southern Manitoba, an avid 4-H’er with many public speaking trophies on my shelf. I also loved singing in a travelling girls’ choir, playing guitar, and writing. I have always been active in local politics, and special needs children’s advocacy.
With a long history in health care and service, strong negotiating skills and hands-on education in construction, I look forward to helping people find the home of their dreams, whether it is a first-time purchase, relocation, or retirement home.
